Last night was the most bizarre and surreal night of my entire life. No. Seriously. So, it was Lisa's good friend Christina's birthday party and I tagged along after having heard of the legends that are Christina's parties. We roll up to her house at about 10 pm and started getting tipsy. Since I haven't really been drinking at all since Halloween, it takes next to nothing to start feeling the alcohol--I think I had something like 6 jello shots and some beer and I am pleasantly buzzed for the rest of the night. Yeah...I'm a lightweight. Anyway, after having about half of the final total of alcohol, a big group of people walk in and I immediately notice a guy that had been in one of my classes about two years ago and that I thought was one of the most put-together males that I had ever seen. I never learned his name or anything, but I always thought he was really cute, etc. So, I continue to talk with friends and we dance a little and I have more jello shots, etc. The said guy comes up to me, pulls me away from the group, and says (while completely drunk on wine, which takes away the value of the statement), "Hi, you don't know me, but you took a social psych class two years ago with Dr. _______. I was in that class too, and sometimes you would sit by me, and I had the biggest crush on you. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that. My name is _____, and I'm not sure what you've got, but you've got it going on. I'm probably freaking you out, so I'm gonna leave you to your friends, but I had to let you know." WHAT? Yeah. I'm still not sure if he meant it, especially if he was so drunk when he said it, but I guess you never know. So, after that, the group of girls and I start dancing, people come in and out, people arrive and leave. So, after about another hour, CSG shows up. It was really good to see him again. I hadn't seen him since winter break, and the most comforting fact about the entire interaction was that I wasn't attracted to him in the least. After spending so much time with him over last year and last summer, we really got to know each other well. He had told me that he was disappointed that there were no photos of him on my website, so we took a few pictures to put up. So, he left fairly soon, he was only there for about twenty minutes as the party was winding down. After that, the party completely slowed down and we left with an amazing DD. Weird night, weird night. |
