This weekend was one for the books. I feel like I saw just about everyone that I love to death in the span of three days, with the exception of Ellyn, Lauren, and Joanne. Which is SO COOL! Today was the Super Bowl (duh), and considering that I didn't know who was playing until earlier this past week, I had a surprisingly good time. But this was entirely due to the fact that I went to two parties with my lovely possible TFA housemate (you know you want to...) Adrienne. We walked into the house of my best Psychology bud's boyfriend's home and it was so strange, because I pretty much knew everyone that was there. Ever since freshman year, there has been a cohesive group of us Honors students and it was nice to see how everyone was doing and what plans for the next year were.
After a lovely first half, Adrienne and I headed to our mutual friends apartment, the lovely B and J's home, where there was lots of wonderful food and assorted beverages to wet any dry tongue. I have always wanted to get to know them better, and tonight was awesome. J plays the guitar and sings and it was electrifying to listen to her sing. She even has a cd out! Go buy it! www.musicfordozens.com So, I don't know, it is just reconnecting with quality people that I never have the chance to hang out with. Last night was fun too, a group that I am a part of had a John "Mayerfest" which was rockin'! I wasn't sure if I could handle a marathon of John Mayer, but it turns out that I am more than capable. John Mayer has been a constant companion all through college, so in a way, I feel like as he has grown as a musician as I have grown into a whole person. One of the guys with the love of JM in his heart organized the whole thing, and it is funny how similar people are that have the same tastes in music. I've also been listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac, which has always held a special place in my heart. My dad and I always rock out to the Fleetwood Mac when we are together. ***** "Listen to the wind blow... watch the sun rise Run in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies. And if you don't love me now, you will never love me again...I can still hear you sayin' you would never break the chain. Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night Run in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light. And if you don't love me now, you will never love me again...I can still hear you sayin' you would never break the chain." |
