"Inside I light the fire That burns the best Inside I feel alive So softly blessed." Fantastic weekend, went by a bit too fast for my own good, I realized this after waking up at noon on Saturday--noticing that half the day was already gone. I wish I could pull the emergency brake right now and make everything suspend for awhile so I can savor the moment. The moments of great creativity, when I can just write like a river runs--where I can keep up with hectic conversation and go to sleep late and wake up early--where I can finish everything on my to-do list. Walking into a meeting prepared--getting work done--taking time to catch up with friends and try new things. If only every day were this crisp, this new. Last night was my last basketball game as a student, as a Trailblazer, with the sweet-ass courtside seats. I didn't actually think of this until there were two minutes left in the game, thank goodness. Went with two of my favorite fellow Trailblazers, Roevall and Sarah K. Well, Roevall snuck in as steathily as a HELLOOOO GOVERNOR, but still snuck in. We made room for the president of the school and the governor of NM, made the numerous trips up the concrete stands, and gave them the best damn popcorn and carbonated beverages that the concession stands sell. (supposedly) Watched my favorite Lobo play some basketball like nobody's business, met his eyes a few times, only looking away when I felt a schoolgirl blush rising from my toes to my face. Because all of the reserved seats were seemingly taken, we sat on a step with our feet on the court. Darn. Not. Out of the 18,018 fans in the PIT last night, we had the best seats in the whole place. I tried to savor. ***** We then went to the chosen college hamburger place of wonderful cheeseburgers and carne adovada burritos and saw a person that I did not expect to see in this world ever again. *suspense* Has anyone watched the show "Super Sweet 16?" Well, they had an Albuquerque edition of the show and the Sweet Sixteen-er was there with a bunch of her spoiled friends. Let me tell you. She wasn't very pretty at all. I usually thought that people look different from TV, but she looks exactly the same, except her teeth were even more yellow. Our table had a few choice words, non spoken to the misled 16-year-olds. Funny though. I just can't believe these parents can consciously throw around several HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars for one party for their too-young teen. Crazy. Anyhoot, I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
