Ah, well, here we are on a fine Sunday evening/Monday morning and I am "working on my thesis" aka "messing around on the Facebook, Myspace, and writing on Diaryland." This week will be the execution of the thesis, it will be finished. I promise. I feel bad putting so many people on hold, but at the same time, graduation = job next year = goodness. Here are the things I have learned in the past week: 1) I don't eat well when I am stressed out. I don't have an eating disorder (goodness gracious, I do not), but I just get like this whenever I have big projects due. 2) I am so glad I have an MP3 player. I was even able to take my charger to Zimmerman library with me and it was awesome. The Garden State soundtrack + snippets of the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack? Priceless. 3) Lamb makes my fridge smell. Seriously guys...man, I got a whole bunch of lamb when the camp directors took me to dinner and all of the leftovers are in my mini-fridge. I'm not quite sure how to describe the smell. Let me try...roasted lamb that has been sitting in an alley for three days before the garbage truck picks it up? Sounds about right. The worst part is that since I have one of the smaller RA rooms, the smell permeates into my sheets and sometimes the hallway. If there is any questions to my ethnicity, the smell of roasted lamb clues them in. 4) My graduation party is getting funnier by the moment. So, my moms good friend has volunteered to get a full lamb and we'll be roasting it on a spit in my parents backyard. Opa! I'm looking forward to my psychology and honors professors faces when they see how cliched my life really is. 5) I got a really cute dress at Dillards for my party/Greek Easter. It is part of the Michael Kors cheaper line, but hey, it is cute. It is a black and white print with a cool neckline... 6) I averted another faceburn on my bicycle the other day. I was riding happily on my comfort cruiser when my pants got stuck in the chain. After a few moments of my leg going around the bike chain track, I foot-braked slowly and kind of rolled off my bike. A few passing people stopped and helped me detach myself. I was just glad I didn't do another face plant. BTW, my face has pretty much healed. I ran into a person who had worked on my face at the Student Health Center, and they didn't recognize me, which is definitely a good thing, especially because I was crying like I had just found out that Santa wasn't real and that my parents were the Tooth Fairy. Simultaneously. 7) You HEAR THINGS IN THE LIBRARY! While in the reading rooms, I always hear people approaching when no one is there...scary. This evening, I was checking out an APA manual and I had my MP3 player on Seal (shuttup, I like him), and I had removed one of the ear things in case someone tried to talk to me. All of a sudden, a man's voice just came from behind and I jumped about three feet while whipping my head around to see who it was. Who was it? Seal...in one of his songs, he just belts out without any warning. A girl saw me jump, and I am sure that she thought I was about two feet away from the looney bin. 8) I won an award! Yay! I know, I am excited! The UNM Honors Program names a few "outstanding" seniors every year, and I am one of them! I was really honored, but apparently, I have to give a commencement speech at the honors graduation??? ACK! I hate that stuff! We'll see. 9) I need to go to bed. Goodnight my darling folks, I'll see you in a week plus or minus 5 days. |
