Interlude

Well, here I am again...escaping from the hectic hamster wheel that my life has become. Don't worry, I'll quit being so melodramatic.

I have a brand-spankin' new teacherage that I am living in by myself. What is a teacherage? Well, it is housing for teachers in areas where housing is not readily available. So, I have a two-bedroom duplex with a big kitchen and dining area all to myself for about $275 a month. Pretty sweet deal, but the only thing that really sucks about the whole thing is that there isn't any internet available out there. Where am I updating from? My classroom. Where I can access pretty much ANY website except for e-mail programs and there is no way to instant message to save my life. Trust me, I've tried.

So, to all of the friends that think I may have died out living by myself and that I am ignoring them? Get over it, I don't even have time to talk to my parents. But I have time to talk to Lisa. There is always time to talk to Lisa;)

I have kept busy decorating my house and planning my classroom. Eden, thank you SO MUCH for the awesome Greek flag. It is now serving as a curtain-like thing in front of my classroom fun-books in front of my "magical" reading corner.

Man, I feel so lucky to be a 3rd grade teacher instead of 7th--I can allow myself to have magical reading corners instead of being like, everyone, let's share a short story on page 453.

I'm really lucky because there are 4(!?!) other brand new TFA'ers at my school with me, so we will be able to stick together like rice grains and discover this new profession together. Thank goodness!

Training starts next week for the district--it should be good. Hopefully:)

Ok, well, just saying that I'm alive...hopefully I'll have time to be more thoughtful and entertaining at another time.
