This might just be the most exciting day of my life so far. After many years of wishing, hoping, and waiting, I am finally so happy that I feel I might burst. I have to tell you about the most important thing in my life as of today... I'm getting a washer and dryer today!!! Mmmhmmm, I am finally emerging from the shadows of dorm washers, laundromats, and schlepping my unmentionables to my mom's house to being a grown-ass woman with her own washer and dryer. Oh, a stain on my shirt? I'll just pop it in the washer. A dirty pair of jeans? Tide will fix that right up! I am SO EXCITED! ===== In other news, today, I woke up for the first time since Sunday to a stomach that wasn't churning or acidic from the need to vomit. I swear, my body expelled every ounce of water, nutrients, or foodstuff that I have ever eaten over the past few days. How's that for sexy? But seriously, I was one day away from going to the doctor, which I never do, because I was living next to the toilet. It was AWFUL! ====
So the last day of school came and left, just like every day before, but I was really surprised how I held it together for the most part. I really am going to miss every single one of the munchkins, one aside. I remember that it wasn't cool for teachers to get all emotional, so I didn't--just one huge tear that went down my face, but was stopped by my Jackie O sunglasses as I was walking them towards the bus. I was really lucky to get such a diverse group of kids my first year, most notably with five of the school's most difficult boys. But, for some reason, they never got toooo crazy and by the end of the year, really liked school and learning. That's all I can ask for, really. BUT! I got to look at my class list for next year, and I AM SO PUMPED! There is this one little boy that looks like a baby Ewok and is adorable and is so smart and he is IN MY CLASS! YES! If you guys even saw this kid, you would want to pinch his cheeks, that is how cute he is. Like a teddy-bear child. Adorable. In addition to this child, I'm getting four of the highest, sweetest kids at the school--which is a welcome relief from this year. I love a challenge, you know I do, but I'm excited to be challenged in challenging them. Does that make sense??? Well, I'm still at school, packing away my classroom for the summer--so stay hydrated! |
