Three more months. A daily mantra that seems to be arriving very quickly. I have a lot of things to do before leaving. I'll find out if I get in the graduate program I applied to in only two weeks, but regardless, I am moving back to Albuquerque to slowly acclimate myself to the larger world. It's kind of overwhelming. In the next three months, the following must occur: 1) Move. 2) Find a new job. 3) Write a research thesis/project for my final master's class. 4) Create a teaching portfolio for that class. 5) Be the best dang bridesmaid for my brother's Maryland wedding. Coordinate Greek relatives and travel cross-country in the week before the wedding with my brother in the car. 6) Teach and lead the after-school dance program I started. 7) Maintain relationships and sanity. 8) Graduate. 9) Get summer job for TFA and do weekly trainings for such. 10) Build library. I'm feeling a little stretched. The more I think about it, the more scared I get. I'm going to lay out a weekly plan today to make sure everything gets done. See you on the other side of June. ======== A few of my out-of-town readers have been asking about my boyfriend. Yes, we are still dating. Yes, I really like him. Yes, he is lovely. I've told a few people before, but I really feel lucky to have met boyfriend Jansport when I did. I had reached the end of my bad dating rope (I can't even count that high) and after eight months, I am just as happy to see him as I was on the first date. He adds a lot of security, happiness, and joy to my life that wasn't there before and I am thankful for that. I think that being choosy was hard for so long, but ultimately, it has paid off. We'll see where the road leads. ======= Great books I have read lately: The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett Manhattan Memoir by Mary Cantwell The Last Season by Eric Bluhm Kiss Me Like a Stranger by Gene Wilder Atonement by Ian McEwan Still Waters by Jennifer Lauck
